Lunch today was very late (3:30), at the restaurant Samir works at, and it wasn't really possible to eat on-plan. I just let myself have a reasonable sized meal, and had a teensy baklava afterward. At dinner, I'm still not hungry, so I'm just having a cup of tea.
Mom and I ate out at lunch today after the library. We tried a new (to us) place with very slow service, wacko owners, and indifferently prepared small-portioned salads. I was really disappointed with mine, because it was drenched in dressing, and it was bottled dressing. No yummy garlick-y goodness. No lemon wedges to squeeze on top. When you've only got so many points to spare, and you get something that is not yummy, it's so disappointing.
I skipped it again.... I usually wake up so late in the morning that if I eat a late breakfast, my whole body/hunger clock is off kilter for eating with the family at normal (to them) times
Lunch:
green salad with chicken (heated chicken in microwave too long and it turned into chunky beef jerky. certainly forced me to slow down while eating.)
diet jello that tasted horrible so I smothered it with a boatload of full fat whipped topping and now I feel sick and so disappointed in myself (1 zillion pts.)
Tomorrow is my first official home weigh-in. I'm supposed to only weigh in once a week, but I cheated this morning, and was disappointed when the scale showed a teensy first-week drop to 181.5. It would serve me right to have bad weight-karma for peeking early. Tomorrow will tell.
Ate out with Mom and Jerry and Dylan this morning, and knew I had plenty of points to spare. I made sensible choices, removed the cheese from my breakfast burrito, ate less than 1/4 of the tortilla, and only half of the potatoes. Yay me! I'm counting a lot of points for the fat in the potatoes, but except for that I did a great job, and have plenty of points to spare for later today and tomorrow!
Breakfast:
breakfast burrito with shredded beef, onions, scrambled egg, cilantro, and a chipotle salsa (1 pt.)
home fries cooked in some kind of oil (4 pts.)
small orange juice (contrary to WW rules, I don't count points for a small juice, because the alternative is that I would have NO fruit--if that stops working for me [if I don't lose weight] I will change that)
sushi (1 pt. for rice)--california roll (no mayo), two shrimp, tamago
small sample of fried fish at supermarket (1 pt.)
Dinner:
green salad with grilled chicken
small baked yam with small pat butter (1 pt.)
Note: I started off behind today with only the banana for breakfast. I had forgotten I needed to go somewhere with mom, and had to eat on the run. At lunch, all I wanted to do was gobble up the bowl of rice that came on the side of mom's meal, but I knew I'd eaten enough. Now, after dinner, I still feel famished, but I'm drinking water and waiting, hoping the feeling goes away. If not, I'll add in a snack.
It's eye-opening at the start of a diet to be reminded that most people feel hungry before a meal, and that this is normal.
